[Guest post] 8 ways to ask better questions by Nicky Torode
Stalwart Street Wisdom host, Nicky Torode, guides us through the art of posing the best question.

Walking to learn
Street Wisdom, at some level, is a learning platform. It’s about navigating your environment with curiosity and wonder. Asking questions. Not knowing.

It’s time to wander
At Street Wisdom, we remind people how to wander again. That's right, it's not just walking. It's wandering. We think it's something people have always known, but often - because of work and life and other stuff - have forgotten.

[GUEST POST] “My shoes are made for walking” by Lynn Borton
We’re big fans of Lynn Borton, the creator and producer of Choose To Be Curious, the award-winning US radio program that explores how curiosity shows up in our lives. When we discovered her own curiosity had led her to sketching her walking shoes, we had to find out more!

What will you ask?
Taking part in a Street Wisdom Walkshop involves asking the streets a question as you wander. Sometimes it’s easy to come up with a question. Sometimes you need inspiration!

Want to become a Street Wisdom host? Brilliant. Walk this way.
It’s really rewarding becoming a Street Wisdom host, bringing strangers together to connect, helping people become more playful, sharing everyday wonder in your local neighbourhood, and giving people a practice and a skill they can enjoy for life!

Street Wisdom - the innovation tool
Street Wisdom is an innovation tool, if you think of innovation in its broadest terms. Take the example of VELCRO. While on a walk, George de Mestral noticed that the hook-like structure of burdock burrs meant that seed pods stuck to his dog’s fur.

What’s Street Wisdom again?
If you want to look at your phone less, spend more time outdoors, walk more for health and wonder, build your mindfulness practice, follow your curiosity, cultivate your serendipity mindset and get even more creative, Street Wisdom is the open-source technology to help you get there!

The science behind Street Wisdom
We’ve been running Street Wisdom Walkshops for over 10 years, sharing this wanderful practice with over 20,000 people in over 90 countries. But does it have any science behind it? It absolutely does.

We’re on This Morning Walk podcast!
We’re over the moon to be a big feature on Alex Elle and Libby DeLana’s incredible walking podcast, This Morning Walk. Listen in, this is such a treat.

We can help you get off your phone
If you're looking to look at your phone less next year, and make 2025 the year of IRL, Street Wisdom might be a useful open-source technology to help you get there.

Vote for a Street Wisdom Walkshop in the SXSW programme
We’d love to bring the joy and wonder of Street Wisdom walking practice to the incredible innovative South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, taking place in London in 2025! Help us by taking part in the public vote!

Love to the rescue - what Alex learnt from her wander
You wanderfuls inspire us so much. One of our wanderers from the World Wide Wander this year, Alex, wrote in with her “Wander Journal” (loving that so much!) and we were so moved by it, we had to ask if we could share it with the rest of the Street Wisdom community. Thanks so much Alex.

The World Wide Wander 2024
We wandered, we connected, we laughed, we cried. Wow. Just wow. The World Wide Wander 2024 was truly wanderful!

How to promote your in-person Walkshop locally
Street Wisdom is a global non-profit promoting the power of wandering to unlock creativity and clarity.

The Street Wisdom Manifesto: What We Stand - and Walk - For
If you look at the world and think ‘Whoa, that’s confusing!’ – you’re not alone. We’re Street Wisdom – inventors of a creative walking practice that’s going to help.

[Guest post] “Movement heals all wounds” by Street Wisdom host Sylvia Tillmann
In our busy, often desk-based lives we often underestimate the power of movement.

“We need to go places and touch things”
We noticed in today’s Guardian this fascinating article about the move away from so-called smartphones towards the “haptic world” - or as we call it down here, stuff you can touch.
And it’s young people, it seems, leading the charge.
We love this!

Who is Street Wisdom for?
Street Wisdom is for anyone and everyone! It’s also especially good for you if you:
🚶♂️ Have tried mindfulness and love it but also want to go a bit further (or are sometimes a bit fidgety)
🚶♀️ Love being outdoors and walking for the joy of it, while also being curious and outward facing

Where does thinking happen in your body?
That’s a question, huh? Where does thinking happen in your body?
We love that question.
Most of us would point to our heads, of course.
