Lucky Creation (San Francisco)

Street Wisdom San Fran

Good LuckLucky Creation is the name of a wonderful vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco’s Chinatown.  It’s also the place where we found ourselves discussing all that happened in our Street Wisdom on 4th April, the first ever event to be held in the USA.   We hadn’t planned to be there, but that’s Street Wisdom.  The right thing just sort of happens.   We didnt order off the very complex menu.  Having spent the morning trusting the environment to send us insights and learnings, we just asked our hosts to serve us what they thought was right.  Good call.    We talked.  We ate.  We talked through our Street Wisdom experiences.  We talked about being Intensely Laid-Back.  We thought about being Defiantly Happy.  We laughed.  We ate some more.   And to finish everyone had a go summing up their experience in a few short words on a postcard.   Here are some of those comments…

“I was wondering if I should move house.  Then I saw a business sign which read Hang On Realty”   Daniel

“Decided to decide later”  Erin

“It’s easy to forget your feet hurt”  Byron

“Experience Nature, City and Art with a child’s mind”  Paul

“Sacred City Streets.  They speak to you…”   Michelle

“It was refreshing to go for a walk with open eyes looking around and within for clues about things in my life”  Doug

All great comments – and do keep them coming!   And maybe the most succinct – and certainly most tasty – comment of all?  Lucky Creation.

  1. I asked a very specific question and got a very specific answer during the warm ups. So I asked why it was that I had worked through the process so quickly and realized that pain and resistance have no place in Wisdom.

  2. Usually when I walk around thinking about a problem or question I have I’m in a kind of tunnel vision mode, not really seeing the sights around me. As soon as we started the Street Wisdom exercises I was looking keenly at all the lovely and interesting things I was walking by. I’ll have to remind myself of this and make it a practice. It was a great experience! Thank you, David!

    • Doug I hope the landscape is still inspiring you. I was reminded of you when someone said yesterday – we are never heroes in our home town. I get the intuitive feeling your ‘san francisco perspective’ might be deeply appreciated in other parts of the ‘States. Just a thought d

  3. I discovered the sacred even deeper in the city streets. I walked with a question about reinvigorating my marketing platform as an author. I found myself off Columbus street, standing in front of Jack Kerouac’s quotes painted on walls. Jack, one of my first inspirations as a writer years ago…returning as a beacon now.

One of my favorite moments was when I entered the women’s bathroom on our walk of seeing beauty everywhere. The dingy bathroom neutralized into the radiance that lights everything. The indifferent, elderly ladies waiting in line began to smile as I couldn’t help smiling.

    Thank you David!

    • Michele. Hope you’re still seeing beauty in bathrooms. Let us know when you are coming to UK. D

  4. Street Wisdom was an enlightening experience! The city I’ve called home for nearly 15 years beckoned me to go deeper and to see her in a completely new light. It offered perspective, patience, attention, surprising new windows to open to find fresh opportunity everywhere in the present moment. I took several photos of iconic architecture and some of abstract patterns, creating visual metaphors, both of my walks outside and that which was within. Thanks David and SW crew for making this journey of discovery possible!
